COMMON HAIR PROBLEMS

Male Hair loss

Hair loss is a prevalent issue that most men experience at some stage in their life. The causes of hair loss in men can be attributed to genetics, hormonal fluctuations, medical conditions, certain medications and supplements, radiation therapy to the head, stressful life events, or specific hairstyles and treatments. Symptoms of hair loss can manifest as gradual thinning of hair on the top of the head, circular or patchy bald spots, sudden hair loss, or patches of scaling that spread over the scalp.

Female Hair loss

Hair loss is a prevalent concern among women in today's world. Women usually start experiencing hair thinning between the ages of 25 to 30. Hair fall and thinning can be caused by factors such as nutritional deficiencies, hereditary factors, ageing, illness, stress, and hormonal imbalances. Symptoms of hair loss include decreased hair density and increased scalp visibility, such as widening of the hair partition.

Baldness

Male pattern baldness is a common condition in which men experience a reduction in hair on the scalp. This is typically caused by changing hormone levels, as well as factors such as nutritional deficiencies, infections, and hereditary factors. Fortunately, there are several FDA-approved treatments available to address this issue. Female pattern baldness is characterized by hair loss on the scalp in women, which can result in a widening of the hair partition and a reduction in hair thickness. Causes of hair loss in women can include autoimmune diseases, medication, illness, hormonal imbalances, and traction alopecia. There are also several FDA-approved treatment options available to address female pattern baldness.

Alopecia

Alopecia is an autoimmune condition that can cause unpredictable hair loss on the scalp and can affect people of any age and gender. There are various types of Alopecia, such as Alopecia Areata Patchy, which results in hairless patches on the scalp, Alopecia Totalis, which leads to total hair loss on the scalp, and Alopecia Universalis, which causes complete loss of hair on the scalp, face, and body. Some common symptoms of Alopecia include the appearance of small, round or oval patches of hair loss on the scalp, sudden hair loss on one side of the scalp, and significant hair loss in a short period of time.

Dandruff

Dandruff is a prevalent hair issue that affects both men and women, characterized by the appearance of flakes of skin accompanied by itchiness. Some of the possible causes of dandruff include inadequate hair brushing, sensitivity to yeast, dry skin, certain hair care and skin care products, diet, and mental stress.

Scalp folliculitis

Scalp folliculitis is a common hair problem that can appear as small, red bumps on the scalp, similar to an acne breakout. Symptoms may include clusters of tiny red bumps with a white tip, sores that develop over time, itching, burning or stinging sensations, and feelings of pain or tenderness. This condition can be caused by frequently scratching or rubbing the head, tight hairstyles such as tight ponytails or braids, and the use of various hair products for styling.

Premature Hair Graying

The premature greying of hair is a common and concerning issue faced by many in modern times. The hair follicles produce pigment cells containing melanin that give colour to the hair. With age, the follicles gradually lose these pigment cells, resulting in the appearance of white or grey hair. Other factors contributing to premature hair greying include vitamin deficiencies, genetics, oxidative stress, real-life stress, chemical hair products, and smoking.

At our specialized hair and skin clinics, we offer customized treatments for all the aforementioned hair problems.
